Overview

From the moment I loaded up RE5 Versus, I found myself fantasizing about Mercs co-op instead (which is easily better than the main game itself). This lack of fidelity assured me that Versus just can’t offer the same blissful experience the rest of the game so readily provides.

Of course, if you’re that desperate to milk the most out of your RE5 experience, be my guest. In my opinion, you’re paying five dollars for a mode that really should have been on the disc in the first place—but that’s your choice.

All in all, this expansion doesn’t do much for the game. Perhaps if Capcom added the option to move while shooting, it could have worked. But they didn’t. This paired with the god-awful lag and bland game variety is likely to lead to a serious case of buyer’s remorse in countless RE5 fans. While it’s not completely unplayable, I already know I won’t be coming back to it unless Capcom does some major patching.

Check it out if you want. Or you can buy some better, less frustrating DLC. It’s your call.
