James Walker at Binge Gamer finally received Chronicles of Riddick for review... right after he sold his PS3. Luckily he was able to get a hold of one just for this game. A fan of the first game, "Escape from Butcher Bay" .. he is able to let you know what you will find with the remake of the original included on the disc, along with how the sequel plays out. Hit 'go to source' for the full review.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is a tale of two games. On one hand, the remake of Escape From Butcher Bay is absolutely amazing and still holds up quite well even today. On the other hand, Assault on Dark Athena feels more like a tacked-on expansion pack with an occasionally fun but ultimately uninspired multiplayer.

I really want this game. I was able to play it at my friend's house, and it was fun as hell. Surprised it only got a 3/5 though...

I was surprised too. The multiplayer mode that is described as 'hide and seek' makes it a must rent based on curiosity alone. But I kind of understand, if half the game is just a remake, and they did nothing to really upgrade the original even though they had the opportunity to. Still, it's already now in my Gamefly queue (meh, I missed out on playing the original)
