Resume Play reviews Sting's brand new JRPG for the DS system; Knights in the Nightmare. The team talk about the implementation of the Wisp system and the extremely frustrating foundations of the game's plot.

Knights in the Nightmare is what it says on the tin in terms of plot guidance; it tells the tale of many knights, living in a nightmare, most of them dead. The plot itself is extremely loose and you will find yourself unavoidably confused within minutes of play, as each chapter in the game keeps going backward in time, introducing characters who are presented as if you have been playing the game as them for several hours. I pressed on through the first few chapters until I was totally confused; from an old man talking to his granddaughter in one scene to a werewolf being slain in the other, the story doesn’t mesh together at all apart from the odd occasion which will feature the Wisp, and a mysterious Iron-clad maiden.

Jim Hargreaves wouldn't be able to tell a good game if it came up to him and bitch-slapped him across the face.

I thought it was poor too

It isn't just poorly reviewed, but he seemed to have written it during his period.

Why would you compare the game to FFIV, when they are completely different other than the fact that they are both classified under RPGs. As soon as I read that part I realized that it wasn't going to be his cup of tea and he was just going to bitch about it because of that.

Have you even played the game?

Yes, the demo and a bit of my friend's copy while waiting for mine. But I see what you're getting at Pootie Tang. Tell you what, if the rest of the game differs horribly from what I have played, I'll change my comment and sing praises in this guy's name for seeing something that I overlooked in my zeal.

Haha, I'm just saying that it's labelled as a JRPG, so comparing it to FF4 isn't exactly a sin; I would say hammer through the main portion of the game before coming to a definate conclusion buddy.
