Sam @ Resume Play types up a small review, price and rarity guide for one of the Jackie's early adventures onto the NES. He explains how it stood out from conventional side-scrollers at the time.
Jackie Chan’s Action Kung Fu is a well rounded platformer which to be honest, the NES is full of, JCAKF stands out due to its excellent “chibi” styled anime artwork and vivid lush scenery. The Control’s are a little heavy but not so much that is frustrating to play.
Like Every platformer of the day, the story is Jackie is strollin’ down the road with the apparent love interest, when, OH MY GOD, the bad guy appears out of frigging nowhere, kicks Jackie’s ass and steals the girl. Mr. Chan sets off on an epic quest to re-aquire his woman.
