This is the tenth game in the Madden NCAA series and there has been slight improvements to each one. Well most games that hit the tenth in a series doesn't keep up a B average grade. Thats the score 1up gave it, saying:"...NCAA Football 10 at least maintains its reputation of providing a good college game."

From the day it joined the EA Sports lineup, NCAA Football has always stood in the shadow of Madden NFL. For many, the game amounts to little more than a chance to warm their chops before Madden hits a few weeks later. It has also faced tough comparisons on the technical side, where players tend to consider it a more "dressed up" version of last year's Madden game, rather than the latest and greatest due for the upcoming season. Though the series may never completely escape this situation, NCAA Football 10 at least maintains its reputation of providing a good college game.

Watching college football on TV, you'd never mistake the action for the NFL, and the same holds true for NCAA 10. But it starts with the deep playbook that well reflects the unique offenses that different programs run. Play a team that favors the spread, and you'll have literally a dozen shotgun formations at your fingertips. Pick a team that likes the option, and you'll have more variations on that one play then you'll know what to do with. Along with drawing things up the right way, once you snap the ball, things start happening pretty quickly. The up-tempo play repeatedly hits on that sense of controlled chaos that's more commonly seen in college ball -- the downside to the faster pace is that it also comes off feeling like a twitchier videogame than a simulation.
