Movie-tie-ins are almost always universally panned by critics and are seen by the majority of the industry as an opportunity to cash in on something big at the box office. This seems the case for Monsters Vs Aliens.

Monsters vs. Aliens tells the story of a group of monsters held captive in a top secret monster containment facility. When an alien robot crashes to earth and starts wrecking up the place, the monsters are asked to defeat it to earn their freedom. Inevitably, the robot is just the start of the problem and the monsters are drawn into protecting Earth from a full-blown alien invasion.
