Electronic Theatre delivers an in-depth review of the latest Madden release from EA SPORTS, Madden 10, now available in Europe on pretty much every format, ever.

Madden 10’s show-stealing addition to the series is that of procedural tackling, deemed “Pro-Tak”, most probably by the PR team that seem fairly intent on labelling every new improvement as the greatest achievement videogaming has to offer. The uninitiated should refer to Fight Night Round 3’s “Total Punch Control” and Fight Night Round 4’s “New Total Punch Control”. However, as with this example, Pro-Tak may well be worth it’s glamorous identity as, in play, the system truly adds depth to the title. With large pile-ups accumulating on the playing field and fumbles often dropping half a team onto the ball, Madden 10 comes closer to games from the real world sport than any American Football videogame before it.
