With Sony's PS3 redesign on the market there are some gamers who really didn't dig the new design of the console. Some preferred the sleek and sexy design of the original PS3 compared to the smaller and almost more old school design of the PS3 Slim. Despite the poor publicity photos the PS3 Slim has a slick design and is a worthy redesign of the PS3.

The general reaction towards the PS3 Slim so far is that it’s kind of an ugly console. When Sony released the first official pictures of the console when it was announced at Gamescom gamers really didn’t fully embrace the new design. The general feeling was that the console looked “cheap.” Well I’m sure some opinions may be changed once you actually see the PS3 Slim in person or you hold it in your hands. The new console looks pretty slick and definitely doesn’t come across as cheap. While it may not have that extremely slick and sexy look of the original PS3 design the PS3 Slim still evokes a certain style and charm despite not looking like a high-end piece of equipment.

this has got to have been written by a fanboy. the Slim DOES look cheap, and i bet it is. i wont be surprised when they break after 8 months.

I'd say it looks cheap I much rather my current PS3. I wouldnt go bashing the system Shinobi, as I imagine your a 360 Fanboy and need I say more the RROD?

I have both systems and enjoy them both. The PS3 Slim is a system designed to gain new customers which I think it will do with it's great new price.

The RRoD is redundant since the new sytems make it so.

The slim was simply to get more customers, it becomes very obvious when the old PS3 is at the same price. New look (in the consumer eyes) = new console.
Don't get me wrong I'm happy for the new price drop I just don't like it's look and it being smaller than the 360 has got me worried on how efficient it is. We'll just have to wait and see....

I would prefer the old PS3 considering it's probably more reliable. Either way I can finally afford one which makes me happy.

I'm sick of people bringing up the RROD, seriously, if that's all you can say then don't say anything.

Tbh, the slim looks ugly as hell and i wouldn't be surprised if the slimmer model destroyed it's performance, hell we've already saw the comparison videos of the Slim being alot slower than the normal PS3.

Come Christmas i'm buying the PS3 fat, because it looks MUCH better and is actually worth my money.

was i ever bashing the PS3? nope. dont jump to conclusions. i have a PS3 for your information, but the good 60 GB model, when Sony actually cared and gave us PS2 compatibility. not this thrown together joke of a system known as the Slim that has nothing to brag about other than a 120 GB HDD, which Xbox 360 has already done years before. dont talk about what you have no damn clue about.

Love how the slim has been out for only a couple of weeks and FFF and Shinobi are already saying how the system's going to fail. Why don't you give it a couple months or wait for people to actually report that its breaking before you start criticizing.

because i happen to have it on good authority that Sony used much cheaper internal parts when building the Slim, besides its a smaller case, which will make the heat have a more severe effect than it does in a regular sized PS3.

I was just stating my opinion, it's not like i was saying anything out of hand.

Just saying that i'd rather get the bigger PS3's because they run games faster and with the size of that thing, it's gonna have some problems as opposed to the PS3 fat which has a ton of bigger stuff to run it.
