Spawn Kill finally gets to review the Atlus RPG that has been on everyone's lips. K-Tuck delivers a detailed, stellar review of the instant Japanese hit that is in line to be released within the coming weeks. In the review, Kevin goes over the atmosphere the game captures and the brutal difficulty, along with the noir visuals and immersive battle system.

From Software’s new dungeon-crawling role-playing game Demon’s Souls is a very intense experience. Its combat is brutal and unforgiving, its storyline is complex yet subtle, and its visuals are so darkly-themed that they are borderline haunting. Considering that this game is coming straight out of the eastern side of the globe, the changes From Software made to the traditional JRPG formula with this title are astounding. The pressing question is, though, does the sum of all the odd components in this title equal up to an enjoyable experience?

I just knew Western critics would start to knock points off for how hard it is. US gamers just hate a challenge.

The whole point of the game is not knowing what's hiding, and without the dark visuals that's impossible. So why he docked points for darkness is beyond me.

I have yet to get it, so I can't say. As long as the difficulty is balanced out with a good checkpoint system, I shouldn't have any problems.
