Halo 3: ODST provides a short prequel to Halo 3 and bridging chapter to the events occurring in New Mombasa after the cataclysmic event that befell it in Halo 2. With your squad mates, players are dropped into the city just as a massive explosion decimates the surface below. Consequently the squad is separated and players must take up the role of the Rookie as he battles for survival in a city now teeming with hostile elements. As he struggles to reunite with his friends, the rookie must uncover the greater story behind the events leading up to his current plight. How did the covenant find Earth? Why did the covenant attack new Mombasa? What are they searching for? Only time will tell...
