Electronic Theatre delivers an in-depth review of the Xbox 360 version of Raven Squad, available now on Xbox 360 and PC across Europe from SouthPeak Games.
Though the tools exist in surprisingly complete form, Raven Squad never manages to get to its’ feet in RTS mode. A simplistic approach to RTS lacking in any resource management whatsoever, the player must move their icon-based troops across a top-down map, with enemy troop types visible at all times. Though some may find the more relaxing feel of the RTS strategising appealing, it’s more than likely that the majority of console gamers will simply use the RTS perspective as a guide, rather than a tactical advantage.
