Fidgit.com's Tom Chick recently reviewed Uncharted 2 and had a very different take on the game than many other sites...

One of this holiday's biggest releases is the Playstation 3 exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Which is a good game with a big problem. And that problem is called Uncharted 1.

The first Uncharted was a revelation for its characters. The romance between Nate and Elena was well written, subtly animated, and expressively acted. No game had done characters so well on all three of those levels. Furthermore, Nate himself was a great everyman, the quintessential charming rogue in a genre full of space marines. The rest of the game was gorgeous, concise, and full of memorable set pieces.

But now here comes the sequel.

People have their opinions, but this dude is just getting picky. Next time, have him direct the game. He obviously knows how to make a great game. *thumbs up*

No game is the game it could have been, otherwise it wouldn't be the game it could have been, it would be the game it became. U2:AT is what it is and what it is a pretty damn good game; if that's not good enough for you then you're just *bleep*ing yourself.

Plus, this is probably the first time I've ever heard of Fidgit.com, so I'm taking all of this with an insubstantial grain of salt. Just knocking a great game for the sake of being different.

Well, I've heard of IGN, and I take their reviews with a grain of salt. xD

I absolutely love a community where varied opinions can be submitted for hot topics and debates. In regards to his review:

Some of his reasoning is awful. Character development becoming too complex and multi-layered? Cant follow whos double crossing who? I found the plot setup to be cleverly simplistic given the material. Anyone who actually invested some time and interest into the story could easily follow the character switchpoints and the games main plot scenes.
I honestly cannot comprehend how the reviewer found this games plot or characters to be complex. It had the perfection of MGS4 without the storyline baggage. Infact, the story itself sits as a standalone, and does so brilliantly to appeal to the masses. The game contains a plot which is appealing, but it cunningly yields very little in onioning the plot and keeps it very clear and directional, whilst still allowing for a few dialogue driven surprises.

I do somewhat agree with the climbing segments in the game. I found them to be a little overdone. But to do away with them completely? A stupid idea. It would taint the overall concept and setup, hell; the characterisation of the team.

The reviewer fails to truly flesh out any of his opinions and has no true opinionated evidence to back up what hes saying. Its carries a certain "I didnt like it; end of story" vibe, which is stupid. If your going to take the effort to post a review and pass yourself off as someone holding some form of competency, then you have to be clear and descriptive and bring some teeth to your opinions. Could be passed as a high school paper.

Shitty. His opinion is fine. Him publishing his opinion, having very little weight to it, is pathetic. Waste of space. The internet has given birth to a group of people who think hitting the upload on the blogging page spawns them a career in Journalism.
