Independent entertainment enthusiast website Deviosity reviews Gearbox's recently released shooter-RPG hybrid Borderlands for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

If there’s one thing that we as gamers have proven time and time again, it’s that we all have a collective, insatiable lust for color-coded loot drops and shooting dudes. Mostly, we’ve had to split our attention between two entirely different styles of game to quench the thirst, but a few sporadic releases have attempted to bring these mechanics together. Hellgate: London comes immediately to mind. None of them have managed to get it right, though. Well, until now.

Basically, it can be summed up as "A pretty good game with some solid Shooting elements with a bit of RPG mixed in. Tough the grind drags on a bit, and the story is practically nonexistent."

I've yet to feel like I'm grinding in the game. I've got a 27 soldier, 26 siren, and 11 hunter, and the quests seem to do the job as far as experience goes to meet the level standards for the next areas. Then there are the many challenges that give you easy XP.

Eh, the story is about the Vault, but yeah, it's nothing too memorable.
