K-Tuck of Spawn Kill reviews the recently-released Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition. In it he details the DLC and expansions new to the package, as well as their overall performance within the game.

"Pushing through lag, scraping all of the fun that can be gathered without losing patience, and being punted out of a game is painful and embarrassing, and shows that Bethesda doesn’t have as much commitment as Fallout 3 has promise."

The person discusses a lot of issues (namely freezes). I have the PC version and have had no such issues.

Then again, I have an unofficial patch for the main game, and all the DLC, so really, I guess I can't comment on the vanilla games behavior.

SO.....Another reason to pick the PC version over the console versions I guess (on top of a lower price, and usermods of course).

I've yet to get far in Point Lookout (or most of the DLC), but I did MOthership Zeta. That was annoying after about the first hour or so, it got very dull.

and since I'm working with the PS3 version, the "vanilla" game is all I will be able to work with.

Why? You do know the GOTY edition is for PS3 as well right?

I think he means 'not user-modded'. Which is basically what 'vanilla game' means (though official DLC adds some toppings of course).

lag, wtf? its not online, LOL.

i think he means framerate issues perhaps? if so, i doubt its as bad as he's saying. never had any such issues with the main Fallout game.

No there are some severe 'lag' moments when the framerate slows and sometimes actually freezes, causing you to have to restart it. I've seen this on the 360 version of my friends GOTY but I've not played the PS3 version to speak for that.

I could go for another round of Fallout 3 with some new content.

I think I am putting this on my wishlist.
