Many compared Borderlands to Fallout, based on the gameplay stills and videos from the development phase. This caused a release date delay, allowing developers a massive visual overhaul. Now Borderlands looks truly unique, but how much it's really different than much popular RPG franchise?

There was a lot of pre-release hype surrounding Borderlands from 2K and Gearbox. Gamers were promised an insane weapons creations system that could synthesize over 1,000 unique firearms and Mad Max style vehicle combat all set against the backdrop of the barren waste-scape of the fabled planet Pandora.
