Erik Brudvig has reviewed the game Glory of Heracles for the Nintendo DS. Describing it as "sorely lacking inspiration", check out the full review to see why it only scored a six out of ten.

They say you can take a girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl. The same can be said about classic, turn-based role-playing games. Glory of Heracles teleports the player to ancient Greece for an adventure where the gods of Olympus are real and dangerous monsters lurk around every corner. It's a rather interesting setting for an RPG and one that hasn't been beaten to death the way high-fantasy or sci-fi has. In the end, however, Glory of Heracles feels like just another cookie cutter game, sorely lacking inspiration.

meh. somehow, reviewers always seem to bash any RPG that isn't named final fantasy. or any game on a nintendo system not titled mario, zelda, metroid etc. also, the re viewer makes it kinda obvious that he isn't good at RPG's in general.
I have to agree with this person. Glory of Heracles isn't anywhere near as bad as the author makes it out to be. The ether system forces a bit more strategy into boss fights, which the review conveniently seemed to neglect. In all honesty though, this seems like it was a rather rushed and/or half-assed review simply because the author didn't care to actually give the game more than an hour or two of playtime. As for the soundtrack being a 5.0, he clearly has no taste. It's not Nobuo Uematsu quality, sure, but it's far from bad or uninteresting.

I could go on and on and probably write a better, more positive review. In fact, I think I'll go do that now...
