The review states that the use of classic JRPG elements actually hinders the gameplay in Glory of Hercules by being "too traditional". Also the graphics and lack of any voice-over work combine to lower the game's score further.

Nintendo and Tokyo-based Paon have been using this character in a series of role playing games in Japan and now they’re bringing the series to North America.
