Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

Ryan Scott types up a review for Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth on the Nintendo DS. Scoring it a four out of five, read on to find out why they call it a great game but "too easy".
"Man, that was a great game. Too bad it'll sell like crap and we won't ever get any of the sequels localized." This was my train of thought upon finishing the first Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, and boy, have I ever (happily) eaten those words. I suppose offbeat titles are the DS' specialty; whatever the case, Capcom's anime courtroom adventure franchise certainly had no trouble finding a U.S. audience, and it's now become so popular that it's got its own spinoff series in Miles Edgeworth: Investigations.
It's probably just what the Ace Attorney saga needs, too. As much as I love these games, I could see how some might feel the series' gameplay is starting to stagnate. Love 'em or leave 'em, it's been the same rigmarole for four consecutive chapters now: Discover the murder victim, collect evidence, defend the almost-always-innocent suspect in court, cross-examine witnesses, present evidence to flag flaws in their testimony, identify the real murderer, and smack down the prosecution in order to attain a "Not Guilty" verdict. For me, this typically translates to "hurry up and get through the investigation segments so I can hit the fun courtroom stuff." Well, AAI: ME skips the foreplay and gets right to the good parts.
