With the release of Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain, Edge Magazine give us a little insight into this new blockbuster of a game for Sony's Playstation 3. With still a few days until the release of the Game in the UK, English fans may want to have a gander.

"Thank you for supporting Interactive Drama.” David Cage may not repeat his digitised Fahrenheit appearance, but his voice rings clear in the first Trophy Heavy Rain awards. Odd it should arrive at the outset, where our ‘support’ amounts to one glass of orange juice glugged and two children entertained. Perhaps Cage means to reassure us. After months of struggling to describe and defend individual moments, Quantic Dream has found a confidence in the whole. But where great movies are unified in the editing suite, Heavy Rain’s strength lies in those earlier inconsistencies.

Just to point out a 7/10 from EDGE is pretty much like IGN or Gamestop giving out a 10/10. EDGE do occasionally get it wrong but they have the most constrained review scores as they try to use the scale properly.

I know. EDGE tend to be rather bias towards games rather than review them professionally. But some of the things that have said is similar to other reviews by places like IGN and Gamestop.

You say "I know" like you're agreeing with him but then go on to say the exact opposite of what he did.

Wait, you say EDGE are bias and don't revivew profesionally yet think IGN and Gamestop do?

Besides that they aren't bias, they use the 10 point scale as a 10 point scale, like it's supposed to be. Reviewers whom use 7 as average are the ones effectively 'upping scores' since their scale isn't actually a 10 point scale, or at least the majority of the scale is negative.

Most people use the 10 point scale like a grade system.
          10-9=A
          8-9=B
          7-8=C
          6-7=D
0-6 varying degrees of fail. It works alright.

EDGE have been critised alot about being Bias. I'm not saying that Gamestop and IGN aren't bias, because no matter what, reviews always hold some personal opinion, no matter how small. But IGN and Gamestop review on a open and mass opinion as opposed to JUST their own.

Another site, gamekult, gave the game a 6/10, they gave Mass Effect 2 a 7 and that's basically their top score. An 8 would mean it went above and beyond.

Sony blacklisted(they wont send review copies to them) them until they boosted the score. Totally reasonable and mature response from the company :\
