Gametrailers recently reviewed Final Fantasy XIII, but is the game a failed experiment, or does it represent a bold new direction for Japanese RPGs?

After watching this video, I know I'm gonna hate Vanille. >_>

Shame. She always looked like an ok character.

My friend has already been disappointed in her for a while because he is a huge fan of her Japanese voice actress and won't be getting dual audio.

I don't care if it has it's flaws. This game looks just awesome to me. I've been waiting for this for a long time and in 3 days I'm going to pick up my copy and enjoy the hell out of it. Maybe this won't be the greatest FF of all time but I'm sure it's going to be damn entertaining.

So let me get this straight. You play for about 30 hours in linear and mind numbing corridors only to be rewarded with a bit of open world gaming in the form of a grassy field, that looks to be a left over piece of map the developers couldn't be bothered add buildings or really any form of plant life to.. Hmm the game just feels disjointed. On the one hand you have these incredibly detailed and extremely linear vistas and then the complete opposite 30 hours later.

This review has shown me really how bad this game is.
