CVG recently reviewed Resonance of Fate, giving the game an overall score of 8/10 and going so far as to say it "beats Final Fantasy XIII hands down."

Resonance of Fate is unconcerned with flashy graphics and simple systems and it's certainly not big on putting a grand story across in hours of uninterrupted cut-scenes. Instead, developer Tri-Ace has focused primarily on its battle system and its world and on these grounds, if on no other, Resonance of Fate beats Final Fantasy XIII hands down. Hungry for a new JRPG? Provided you're not scared off by complexity, this is the one to go for.

But still stupid. Reviews shouldn't be, is this better than *insert game*, it should be how good is this game?

Agreed it's stupid, if someone can't speak of a game without needing comparison they have no right to call themselves journalists, but it isn't exactly hypocritical as suggested was my point.

Another failure in an attempt to gain recognition by stomping on FFXIII. reviewers are starting to get pathetic...

I hear that. Critics are starting to tag on these stupid gimmics to their reviews that it just becomes disgusting trying to read them.

Im sorry with you guys, but unfortunaly the Reviewer is right, I´ve just beated FFXIII and I am completely disappointed with it.

The story was all linear, to much cutscenes (some of then are so fast and japanesish that fells like crap and predictable), the history has also too much of suspence and get an abrupt revelation without consistence...

As for battle, that was one of the things that killed the game for me. Only one character fighting, Pressing X for attacking AND L1 for changing paradigms and X again and that's all ( franckly: as the battle is realtyme you will rarely go manually determine the abilities).

As for exploration, none at all (As that that those says after cap 11 in Pulse, Geez, that free walk place hade no towns and comparing is a way smaller than the open area in FF12 between Rabanastre and Nalbina.

As of caracter evolution, fixed, each of the caracters have your own path, you could mix a bit but the lack of leveling is crap for me. (Miss so much F9 and F7 system freely at all, F12 at least was more free than this...)

AS of weapons and itens, thats realy ridiculous, just for put an example: I could use the same weapon in the begining of the game until the end just leveling it up from 1 to 25... crap.

Finally you guys get the conclusion, they choosed a easy path, a linear path, that simplifies the gaming and was focused in a more range of casual players not lovers of FF RPGs like me, sadly.

    Too Sad. Frankly.

You said, and I quote, 'I just beated FFXIII'.

      Your argument is invalid.
