Electronic Theatre delivers an in-depth review of the Games for Windows version of Microsoft's recently released Game Room software, which finds itself lost in a very different market.
Launched last week for both Xbox 360 and Games for Windows, Microsoft’s Game Room is quite obviously a misunderstood beast. In Electronic Theatre’s in-depth review of the Xbox 360 version, we stated that the software were to act as yet another string in Xbox LIVE’s ever expanding bow; an hour or so’s entertainment in an evening rather than a rivalling market to boxed retail products and Xbox LIVE Arcade. And while many younger gamers may not yet see it’s worth – being limited to games of the 70’s and early 80’s as it currently is – those who grew-up with such titles the first time around will recognise it’s place alongside access to Facebook, Last.fm and 1 Vs. 100 LIVE. On Games for Windows, however, it’s a very different story.
