The PSP part of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix doesn't quite make the spellbook, especially compared to the PS2 version. According to GameZone's review, awkward PSP controls hurt perhaps its most important aspect: spellcasting.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix for the PSP lacks the spark of magic that would have made this one of Harry’s finest adventures to date. Unfortunately, the game just doesn’t translate as well on Sony’s portable gaming machine thanks to some bad controls, an awful camera and a weak representation of such a dramatic story. If you’re a hardcore Harry Potter fan, this game mixes fan service with its various flaws that make this a game you should skip instead.

This doesn't surprise me at all. The HP games have all been pretty poor, which is a shame, considering how epic they could have been.

If you ask me, pretty much all movie games are pretty poor. It's a shame that the developers are rushed to finish it so it can be released along side the movie.

I never buy games based on movies, no matter how good the movie is.

When will developers realise that Movies and Games just don't mix?

Thats not entirely true, just look at the Spider Man games. They are perhaps the best movie games out there, and they are pretty decent. They prove that you can make a good movie game, if you want to. Most of the developers just want to rush the game so it will be out for the launch of the movie, though.

Not all of them, mainly around now they are creating some that are better then what they were. For example Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops and Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters.

This is a shame to hear as I was going to rent this for the PSP, it just likes like I wont have to now, shame really as I was getting a bit into the idea of the story =[

I don't get what you mean. Visually poor to WHAT other games? And which games actually look visually poor for a portable system? The visuals are never the problem, it's the controls and gameplay...if only the PSP had a second analog stick, it'd be able to run smooth FPS/TPS games without a hitch.

Onto the topic, I was never really impressed with the Harry Potter games, the graphics looked good on consoles, but that's about the substance that was attractive to me.

    This doesn't surpise me.

The only Harry Potter game I enjoyed was Prisoner of Azkaban on the Gameboy Advance. The rest were horrible.
