It seems Nintendo can do no wrong. Puts out yet another iteration of a system they already have 2 of, not including each clour of course, and with a 3D unit heading everyones way in 2011, here comes the XL version of the DSi.

Come check out the review of the hardware, how it shapes up and compares. Personally I think that there's just way too many of these critters hiking about, yet there's more on the horizon.

If MS or Sony put out as many changes in their hardware, there would be screams heard from all over the world, but no one much as mutters a word when Niffty do it.

It’s a simple truth. Our pockets are stuffed to the brim with wallets, smartphones, mp3 players, Pokewalkers (you know you do), assorted coins, maybe even a pen or notepad for the charmingly old fashioned amongst you.

Our portable plastic gaming fixes are far more likely to reside in backpacks or handbags, but it isn’t until now that this has been admitted.

So in the absence of a true Microsoft handheld, how does Nintendo‘s latest and largest effort rank up – the DSi XL? Let’s start with the obvious, shall we?
It’s big.

360 game case - DSi XL - Sony PSP 3000 - Apple iPod Touch - HTC Hero

Very big. But it makes sense, and not from a Nintendo marketing ‘share with friends- gather your family around the screens!’ sort of way.
