We taking a look at the game so good that it took more than 5 years to reach our screens. Remedy Games' Alan Wake bills itself as a psychological action thriller, and although it may be light on thrills it does deliver one of the better plots in recent gaming history ...

The entire game is put together like a TV series, with each major event comprising it’s own “episode”. It seems like an odd concept to begin with, but the format fits the rest of the game so snugly that you’ll be on board before the end of the first episode. Alan’s voice constantly relates his own experiences to the player, but where in other games I would find this kind of narration grating, here it’s just another aspect of the TV drama setting.
