From developers Sting, creators of titles such as Evolution and Knights in the Nightmare, and the publisher behind games like 3D Dot Game Heroes, the Shin Megami Tensei series and Demon’s Souls comes a new dungeon crawling RPG adventure that is sure to offer fans of the genre hours of entertainment with its dual storylines and multiple endings.

Hexyz Force is overall a good game, it does fall short of being great, but it is still worth a play through for fans of dungeon crawling or turn-based RPGs and by offering two separate stories with three separate endings it does offer a fair amount of replay value. In a way the story does fall short, some of the characters just aren’t that likeable, this reviewer found himself turned off by Cecilia’s attitude most of the time as she came off like a snob, but played in one or two hour bursts the game is enjoyable. It just wasn’t a story that gripped the player and made them want to continue non-stop, which on a handheld is still not a bad thing as they are meant for short sessions of playing.

In the end Hexyz Force may not be for everyone, but for RPG fans that want a game that offers plenty of play time, potentially 20-25 hours each story, with different endings and a whole lot of dungeons to explore, this would be a title worth picking up. At the price of $29.99 getting two RPGs in one is still a very good value.

This game is great, a real gem. It seems the PSP isn't dead yet and it's gone a bit of life left in it.
