So far, with this year's releases, Split/Second is in first place (by far) for racing game of the year. We'll have to wait and see if Gran Turismo 5 can knock it off of the throne.

My heart is racing so fast it's about to pop out of my chest, hands are sweaty from gripping the "wheel", it's the final lap and I'm only a few sharp corners from sealing the deal. In a split-second a thunderous crack fills my ears, as a large shadow pours into the street I know I'm in trouble. Seconds later all I can see is darkness; my car has been crushed by a skyscraper and I've missed my chance at victory.
