Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the '80s Review

SSJ3 Trunks | July 24, 2007 | Reviews | Playstation 2
Can you get enough of Guitar hero? With 30 tracks IGN sounded a bit disappointed with the songs. See the score for yourself as IGN explains why the 80's aren't so heroic this time around.
There are a number of very good and very fun tracks to be found, like Iron Maiden's "Wrathchild", Anthrax's "Caught in a Mosh", Extreme's "Play With Me" and a handful of others, but they're comparatively few and far between. For the first five of six sets of songs, you may find one in there that's fun while the rest will be rather boring. The last set is great, but it feels like too little too late.

Another disappointing aspect is that there are only 30 tracks to be found. There are no bonus tracks to purchase in the store, which puts the total track count well behind what we've seen in previous releases. With the title launching at a full $49.99 price point, we simply expected to see more.

Bonus tracks? They've been ass for the MOST part. Gems like Freezepop's stuff and Dethklok are the only good ones.

Pfft, they need to have a list of good songs that you can download, or pay for like 20 more songs...

I'm not getting this until they start getting music I acutally like.

Ahmen to that dude. I played a version on XBOX360 and there was 1 song I knew outta all of them. It's kinda sad. They need some more up-to-date.

My buddy Nick played this while I was watching it, and he said it was very disappoing for the Guitar Hero series. There are nearly no songs we knew.

Well, what can you expect? They're working on Rockband rather this gamas much (unless the people who bought GHIII are making this game)

Even still, GHIII or Rockband is more important than This game. its to hold the gamers guitars until 3 comes out =P.
