Digitally Downloaded reviews what has to be the biggest game release for the year, Valve's Portal 2. Can it possibly live up to the hype? In short: Yes. Yes it can.

Portal 2 is proof of how important story and character can be to a game. Without the brilliant scripting and cinematic approach to plot, it would actually be quite a forgettable experience.

    Portal 2 the biggest game release of the whole year? i wouldnt say the biggest game period of the whole year but definitely ONE of the biggest. im sure it does live up to the hype, but just because its Valve doesnt automatically make it the most amazing thing of all time.

      But it is, apart from Duke Nukem forever. Portal 2 lived up to everyone's expectations, it was amazing.

        im just saying thats a really bold statement when we are only 4 months into the year and theres still Arkham City, ME3, Skyrim, Rage, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3...plenty of big name games left in the year. the author is obviously a biased Valve fan to say something like that with so much else due out this year.
