A review of the Dead Island zombie survival horror game. It meshes multiple genres of video games into one great mixture. This in one of the better games to come out this year.

At first glance Dead Island is just another zombie kill them all game, but after only a short time playing this game it becomes apparent that this game takes great lengths to make this game move beyond the simple horror survival genre. It takes the horror survival genre of zombies and mixes it with RPG elements of character and weapon customization. After completing this game it seriously looks like it could be in the top 10 games of 2011. With fast paced tense action, customization options, quests galore and a story fitting for any zombie movie of the past two decades this is one game that will keep players hooked for quite some time.

Ah, and 8.5 overall, eh? Not too bad, haha. When I was playing it, the whole thing felt like a slightly different version of games like Fallout (having not played Borderlands, I'm afraid I don't know how well the compare!!), with the weapons attributes, upgrades, and variety, as well as a number of other things (main quests, side-quests, etc.).
