IGN played both the AO and M versions of Manhunt 2, and disclose some of the changes made to get the rating down to M. Of course the Wii version will be the preferred one over the PS2 and PSP.

The biggest and most disappointing change relates to the major death strikes. When Danny sneaks up on an enemy, gamers can hold the A button down, at which point they will be given the option to pick from three different murder animations (on Wii, they get to act them out with Nintendo's motion-sensitive controllers). In the AO-rated build of Manhunt 2, we could clearly see these over-the-top and horrific animations. In the M-rated version, Rockstar has added both an extreme blur effect and in most cases darkened the graphics so that it is nearly impossible to make any sense of what is going on.

Im for one is completely disappointed about this cut scenes that were taken out. Those two things should be left and it doesn't deserve a AO for it. The game it self was already a Gore game it should be plastered on the front of the both 18 and older to play. I thought it was coming out for PS3..oh well.

It still sounds good but im very disappointed about this.

They didn't take out cutscenes, but they just made changes to the major death strikes (if you've played the first Manhunt, it's the most violent of the animations, when the thing turns red). These are usually much more extreme than the other attacks, with things like smashing there skulls (and seeing it break apart) or chainsawing them in half. They've been blurred up and darkened to make them harder to see and, in turn, less "murder simulator" like.

Otherwise, it doesn't seem to be changed that much, although that one change is quite disappointing. It probably won't get in the way too much. Oh, by the way, I think most games released in Europe are required to have 6 languages or so, English included. That's usually why they take so long to be released there.

I mean those things as a cut scene. Besides i have played the first one. Which is why i found those death scenes being take out as stupid. This game was meant to be gory no need to delete awesome moves, hell Mortal Kombat had hellacious(im aware not a word) fatalities and yet non of those were taken out.

Oh and thanks for the info on the Europe one. I think i might get that one.

Import the game from the Netherlands, they are getting the uncut version and they use the PAL system so it will work on your PS3.

Blurry death strikes They were the best part of Manhunt. I think I'll be importing it if they're really bad.

I'll wait until it's released and have a look at some youtube vids. If it's really bad, then I'll import it.
