Shocking Score: Final Fantasy II Review On PSP!

ITANI | October 22, 2007 | Reviews | Playstation Portable
One of the first true Final Fantasy games to arrive on the PlayStation Portable and probably it would have been better if it didn't arrive. Even though many don't listen to reviews as it's a matter of opinion, reviews do give you a brief idea of what the negatives are in the game. One of the negatives are to increase your hit points your character must get damaged and this results in players making their own team mates hit each other to gather hit points. It's dissappointing seeing another classic ruined in this modern generation of games. Well that's the risk you take when remaking a classic, it's either better or worse.

4/10
Let's hope beyond hope that this is the last time Square-Enix repaint and parade this game on yet another platform, especially when there are so many wonderful videogames in their vaults that do warrant contemporary attention.

Final Fantasy 2 has been out for a while now on the PSP, since July. This is not a "shocking score." Just because it's Final Fantasy doesn't mean that fans don't expect that when you release a version that clearly could benefit from some upgraded visuals for the PSP and they don't do anything that you're not going to get very good reviews.

They've already ported this game to so many platforms before in nearly it's original state with only slight changes and people thought that this PSP version might finally be the time they make the graphics quite a bit better, but they didn't. Hence the score.

    THIS IS NOT NEWS.

Sounds much better in my opinion. The other ones have been out for a while now and it's time for a new one.

Hm, I haven't really looked into this, so I won't pass my opinion. But I remember playing Final Fantasy 2 for PS1 and it was awfully difficult.

You can never count on reviews, especially ones that come from a source that isn't professional or unofficial.

The game will probably turn out good, if not, oh well, it's just a remake anyway.

You can edit your own stories. I know I've fixed a couple of mine after I saw errors, or when I did updates.

Looking at the source, it's for the European release, and the review was dated a day or two prior to posting. Still something IMO shouldn't be posted, but it falls under the rules.
