IGN has put up their review for PixalJunk Monsters. The second game of the PixalJunk series. The first being a racing game wasn't praised well. But in their new game, Monsters it has been getting good reviews all around. Its a brand new RTS from Q-games. It is available right now for download for 8 dollars and you can download the demo on the Japanese store.

Final Score= 8.5

- If you've been following the PixelJunk series of games (there have only been two so far), you may recall that we weren't particularly fond of Q-Games' previous title, PixelJunk Racers. However, PixelJunk Monsters, recently released on the PlayStation Store, is an incredible improvement over Q-Games' previous effort and boasts some of the most addictive and enjoyable gameplay we've seen in a while.

PixelJunk Monsters happily belongs to the "tower defense" genre of games, where your sole objective is -- generally speaking -- to construct a series of towers in a certain environment and attempt to fend off attackers from reaching your base or a goal. This premise is very familiar to us, but it's executed with great precision and care in Monsters, and that's what makes this title stand out.

I bought this the day it came out. I'm only on a 38" (give or take a few inches) TV getting only 480i and the game is pretty blurry. You can adjust the screen size/zoom which makes it a lot crisper but then you can't see your $$ or anything else, just the little dood running around so you have to zoom out making it blurry. That's the only lame part, imo. Other than that it's pretty good for a desktop defense style game.

I very rarely thoroughly enjoy RTS games (not a fan of them) but I think this game is awesome.
