PS3 Addict reviews Lost Planet

Agente47 | February 23, 2008 | Reviews | Playstation 3
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition arrives on the PlayStation 3 and gets 83% from PS3 Addict.
The third person shooter on ice from CAPCOM has a few glitches, but it's still enjoyable.
Be warned, there's a 5G install.
When you're done with the single-player game, you can go online and join 16 player battles. People from all over the world can play together. Since the game is not out in Europe yet, I found myself playing with a lot of japanese gamers. I was surprised by the lack of any lag even when my opponents were so far away. Online you have four modes: Elimination, Team Elimination, Post Grab and Fugitive. Nothing new here. Add 16 different stages and 6 item layouts and you have many hours of multi-player shooting to enjoy.

Lost Planet is a decent shooter with top graphics and a brainless story. If you like cool mechs, big guns, scary aliens and blowing up everything on screen, get this game.

You have to get used to install, play, and uninstall when you're done with it.

83% is way too high for this game (assuming the gameplay is not that different from the 360 version).

The game looked great, yes, and the concept of it is good, but it's just not very fun.

A rental at best, really. Especially when it doesn't look worthy of gobbling down 5 Gigs of HD memory.

This game is fun if you paid only 15 bucks for it on clearence at Target for the PC and run it at max settings at 1920x1200.

This is one of those games that's not terrible and so benefits from the lower price point and automatically becomes more tolerable and hence, more fun.
