For those living under a rock, should note that the Playstation Store has now changed and as you can see from the link, it's most certainly for the better. However what exactly are the impressions of the non-Sony folk that have played it? Well IGN are here to give us just that.

Let's say you wanted to select Downloadable Games. You'd cycle through the boxes on screen with the D-pad or left joystick and click X when the Downloadable Games box was highlighted. Once inside, the left side of the screen would have the subcategory title along with some other Sony Store ads, and the right side would break the downloadable games up even further -- Games, PSP Games, PS3 Eye, PSone Classics, Top Downloads, View Genres, and View All A-Z.

There's not much more I can ask of the PlayStation 3 now except for in-game XMB.
Edit- Although an updated and more robust Internet browser would be really awesome.

so far, im seriously dissapointed with the new look

sure it looks nice and shiny, but thats about it
trying to find things is a mess, its nothing like those images above, thats simple to use, the current set-up is not.
old content is somewhat unreliable atm and its incredibly redundant, something i thought this wasnt a problem with before

you have to be an idiot to not be able to find what your looking for in the new store...Everything is pretty much spelled out for you.

oh i can find things, easily
if you read my statement it said "mess", not "difficult"

The fact that you find it a mess is just beyond comprehension. Your mind doesn't follow the rules of common sense very well when it comes to searching for things does it?

What's with all the negative thumbs? Jeter is right, the new store is organized so well. There are a number of ways to sort through things to find exactly what you're looking for.

You must be lacking in the head to actually believe what you're saying (@lord of vice city). It's EXACTLY like it appears above, and it's exponentially better than the old setup.

I find the new layout to be a vast improvement to the old one. I find what I'm looking for with ease and the pages load really fast. And, I disagree with you, lord of vice city, about the new layout looking nothing like the above pictures, as to me, it looks exactly like the pictures show it.

I can't understand how it could not look like the pictures above, seeing as how the freaking pictures above are actual screenshots from the store. That's just a ridiculous statement.

say what you please jmac. my opinion stands, the general layout is the same, the functions is not.
maybe its different for you, i dont know, maybe yours looks like those images above, i dont know.
what i do know is, mine doesnt quite look like that, those ive seen seperates games into proper catagories, being able to search between ps3, ps1 and psp games and demos like whats been shown, instead it brings me to a list of genre, then all thrown together

im entitled to my opinion, i just dont piss all over yours

Dude you're crazy. Also, it's funny to see you again, this is Alias353.

Lord I can't imagine how your store looks different but if it honestly does take pictures of it and host them. I'm very curious. How on earth could your store be different from those pictures though man? It's just not possible.

From Store Top go to "Downloadable Games" to get to that area where you can chose from PS3, PSP, and PS1 Classic games. PS3 games (as in network arcade games) are simply listed under Games. How is this difficult to navigate? Then in this same section you can also link to a sorted list by either genre or simply game title and finally top downloads.

I have heard great things about the new store, the screens look pretty cool too. I don't have a PS3, however, so I can't check it out for myself. Although I would love to go get Mortal Kombat 2 off of the store!

I really liked the old layout better, it was fine for me, i don't get how it was slow and stuff for everyone else. But i could find things easily and was pretty fast. The store Needs more PS classics not a new layout.

I just found it took a while to explore around. That's my problem with it. But i agree, more PS classics.
