19 reviews for the latest Grand Theft Auto title thus far, and all carry a score of 98 or 100 (most carry the latter). 277 user reviews average out to 8.3. Considering the freezing errors we've seen, the online troubles, and the suspicious activity at IGN, is it fair to be suspicious, or at least critical?

Not really surprising, is it? I mean this game has got loads of perfect reviews unlike other games. So this kinda thing had to be expected.

So a 8.3 warrants online problems, some glitches, and the review? Wow people are getting over board here.

This game is true to the score, the only people crying is people who just can't get used to the game. I have it and after 1 day of playing it it feels like a GTA game. The new system makes GTA3 look nothing.

Loads of 10/10 scores even by game reviewers that rarely gives 10s to games
Loads of controversy plaguing the media with GTA4.
    An already big GTA fanbase

This is publicity heaven for Rockstar!

You're right about that, Dragonite. They are used to the publicity.

I guess the score is also that low because a fair amount of people seem to be disappointed with their first impressions, but they're stupid enough to rate the game after playing it for only one hour. They don't seem to realise that the game will get much better as they play more, and get used to the driving etc.

Although this would easily be the game to earn a 100, I give it 99.99 because of the glitches. If there were none then it would be perfect.

Thats stupid. Gamespot and IGN who RARELY ever give out 10s has stated the games as some minor problems but the positives FAR out weight the negatives and they gave it a 10. 10 isn't perfect its Revolutionary that no other game has done so far, and this game is just that.

GTA4 isn't perfect and none is, but come on seriously your taking off point when these two never give out 10s unless its that serious of a game just tells you its that good.

Exactly. (never thought I'd be saying this after following a comment of yours)

There are no perfect games. There are games which truly revolutionize their genre, and those that are at that very pinnacle deserve the 10 accolade.
