Mirrors Edge may well be exclusive for the PS3 this year, according to German gaming site Heise.
While Reeves at Sony Europe claims this developers at Dice and EA say they have heard no plans, but admit this deal may have occurred at a higher level of which they were not informed. Treat this as a rumor at best.
Wow, the biggest rumor to come out of GC 2008 is that Mirrors Edge will be a timed PS3 exclusive. I dont quite know how to classify this story, as either a rumor or confirmation of sorts. The reason why is pretty convoluted, details after the jump.
According to German site Heise Online, in a special GC 2008 Leipzig interview with Dave Reeves, big boss of Sony Europe. Mirrors Edge will be a PS3 exclusive game for this year and will be coming out next year for PC and Xbox 360. This is big news if it is indeed true, as Mirrors Edge is considered one of the most anticipated games this year.
Now before everyone gets their panties in a twist, this report is really coming third hand considering the whole site is in German and had to be translated using Google translator. Here is the translated quote so you can be the judge.

Who knows...
98% of these so-called exclusive are not really exclusives, as when it comes down to brass tacks, money speaks and so do sales.
A few days ago, as we all know, a rumour was out that David Reeves from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe reportedly told journalists that "Mirror's Edge would be a timed exclusive for Playstation 3 first", and that "the PC and Xbox versions 360 arrive until much later. "Electronic Arts has spoken on the subject today.
Well the world's number two video game publisher, Electronic Arts therefore declined the information given out by David Reeves with the following statement:
"Mirror's Edge will be available this winter on PS3, XBOX360 and PC. Mirror's Edge will not be a temporary exclusivity on PS3."
So that's very clear, crystal clear actually, and yet another example of some lengths some will go to to fool the gaming public.
