Left 4 Dead, Valve's upcoming zombie thriller, is set to be released on the Xbox 360 and PC November 17th 2008. Valve hasn't been as kind to the PlayStation 3 though, but Sony's recent successes with the powerhouse have turned a few heads over at Valve.

"We're always evaluating what's happening in the marketplace and certainly something that's happening in the last couple of months is that Sony's managed to sell some boxes," said Doug Lombardi.

Originally the title was expected to be done by EA if indeed it was ported to the PS3, however now it appears as if we could see Left 4 Dead heading to the console before 2009.

Valve doesn't do PS3. The company's co-founder Gabe Newell isn't a fan, and hasn't been afraid to say so. But Valve's Doug Lombardi has told CVG today that PS3 support could be on the cards as the platforms recent success has raised some eyebrows.

"So whether or not you like developing for that platform, if they've got millions of people connected to that platform and buying their games you have to take it seriously."

Wow, you're a dumb bitch. A total Jihad level fanboy like you would never own a 360. Next time, when you make up a story to try and justify you insane level of hatred for a console, say something plausible.

You have such a way with words huh Lost_Cause, how about being nice to someone that doesn't like something you like. Consoles break the Xbox 360 does, the Wii does even the Playstation 3 does, so how is Newcloud making up anything, he could be yes i mean this is the internet but he could actually be telling the truth.

Anything to make your e-penis larger i guess, i mean everyone knows people are tougher on the internet as words can kill! Just keep hiding behind your computer monitor knowing forewell no one can hurt you for that attack on Newcloud, feel safe knowing that had you done that in public you would have probably been taken down a peg or two or hell even killed... The internet makes you a big man doesn't it.

Uh calm down. It might not have a 33% chance of having some sort of fatal error, but the Xbox 360's notorious for hardware issues.

And any of that has to do with Left 4 Dead... how? Like this article really warranted some dumb fanboy comment?

          Probably benefits you to use

"and that happened to me and pretty much everyone else I know of"

As otherwise you're pretty much speaking for an entire population of system owners with a generalization about failed hardware.

Entirely your choice of course but the accuracy of the statement is diminished by leaving it as is and really is just a magnet for trash talking.

As for Valve bringing L4D over, they very well could allow for it if they think the market could be there for it, they already have a large amount of R&D done on the system from the days of the Orange Box and it's only been growing in general since then.

Yeah, everything you said was true, about 2 years ago. Those numbers have diminished to just a little over 10% now. So, you might want to get your head out of the dirt and get your facts straight before you start spewing out outdated figures.

I don't see why they wouldn't, the Playstation 3 is hardly in the same positition it was when Orange Box launched. Valve should like to have the money the PS3 would bring, having a game on two platforms is nice but 3 is even better when money making is involved.

I was wondering about this, why they were only releasing it for 360 and PC.
I mean, Valve doesn't usually play favourites after throwing The Orange Boxy goodness all over the place.

I'm not fussed either way, I have a 360 so I'll be getting it fo sho. ;D

Im just going to wait and see if this does come out, and how it plays before purchasing it. After the recent disappointment for Orange Box for the PS3, I might end up picking this game up for 360 instead.

That's because the PS3 version of The Orange Box was made by EA. If you actually read this article, you must know that Valve are thinking of porting it.

And where in my posts did you think I didn't know this? I know quite well who ported OB ok. I was just making a point that im going to wait to see how it plays out before purchasing it on the PS3, or just buy it on the 360.
