Last night on a show called Warzone, someone named Weapon X talked about Downloadable Content on Grand Theft Auto 4, and that it could cost 1600 Microsoft Points and will be huge. Read the rest of the quote for more info.

Last night on the Warzone, Weapon X gave us the skinny on the GTAIV DLC. Here are the things he mentioned:

1. GTAIV DLC will arrive in late October or Early November
2. The DLC will be more like an expansion pack
3. It’s rumored to cost 1600 MS points and will be very large

None of this is confirmed yet but Weapon X has some very good sources. Stay tuned for more info on this in the coming weeks.

I don't particularly care much anymore, GTA IV got old very fast and i don't think any amount of expansions will make me like it again.

I have no idea why, but i had it in my head that the DLC for GTA4 would be free. Maybe because it seems such an unfinished game i suppose.

How much in pounds does that amount of MS points equate to btw?

lol Maybe for Sony's PS3 version. We've been stating this for months that the DLC will be hefty price and will be big.

      Interesting.

      £13.60
      &
      $19.99 (for iLLmatic)

Considering it'll probably just be same sh*t, different place, the worthiness is very questionable.

It'll depend on the content before I spend that kinda dough on an expansion. And given I don't play the game that much anymore, it'd have to be really somethin...

How much money does that equal?

Microsoft do not recommend charges for downloadable content. It's Rockstar that set the price.

If I remember correctly, wasn't it Microsoft that forced the GoW developer into charging for the DLC? They wanted it to be free, but Microsoft wouldn't let them, and so they made it chargeable for a while and free after a couple of months as a compromise.

It is indeed Microsoft that are greedy.

wtf you mean they aren't giving us huge amounts of extra gameplay 4 free?

Nlol, good sirs. Nlol. Only Microsoft would do such a thing.

this content is coming out at the wrong time with all the good xbox games coming out around that time like fable 2, gears of war 2... would anyone bother?

Hard core GTA fans will bother. And I think the idea is really just to add another tick in the reasons the 360 is better colum. Microsoft doesn't care if anyone buys it really. Just that people that don't already own a 360 have their interest piqued.

I sold GTAIV a while ago, I could really care less about this. They should have probably released SOMETHING in the DLC dept sooner before everyone lost interest.

The point people are missing is that if the DLC is realy good it will draw people back into the game

    Just like burnout.

I agree with Shadow. They waited too long to get it out. Nobody cares anymore.
If the PS3 ever gets DLC I won't be getting it. I've zero interest in GTA4 right now.
If they added Trophies however I might sing a different tune.

      Final Blade Aug 25, 08
Right as if Trophies are any better. In fact you'd have to replay the game all over again. Making it a bigger waste of time, which doesn't give you anything within the game that the DLC might give you...like real in game rewards.

How do you know you would have to do everything again?

Cause as of now, no games is supporting retroactive trophies, except Criterion's Burnout Paradise. You know as well as everyone else the time we heard about the trophy system in june that that was going to be a problem with a few gamers. Replying the games from start cause of the fact the games aren't retroactive. Which I believe you shed your thoughts on the same issue as well on the PS3 general forums. Which the saves were only tied to your PSN which allowing that to be able to unlock those trophies without replying the game again, if you already had unlocked it first. But not all games are going to supporting this. And only a few are, which burnout paradise is going to be supporting.

I don't see GTA4 supporting it as well. Cause they're many people out there, still, cba to play the game to get 100% and find those saves online.

I see the DLC being bigger than the trophy system for GTA4, i'd play it for sure. Trophies while a nice addition to new games, for my old ones its a pain just to play it over for trophies.
Once im finished with the game, I don't believe im going to put much effort playing it again just for getting trophies. GTA4 isn't any different. In fact I don't see Mnmfan enjoying replaying it again to get 100% with trophies. He already stated he doesn't play the game anymore. Replaying it again would be a bigger waste for any type of GTA fan who was disappointed with GTA4.

FB, I think your obviously one person that hasn't gotten hooked to Trophies. I've baught and played to death PixelJunk Eden just because of trophies, and if GTAIV were to get trophies, I would instantly restart the game and play through. Were it to get an add-on, I wouldn't bother buying it, because the game hardly interested me.

To me Trophies = Replayability, Add-on = Waste of Money. Remember that's to me, and it seems that mnmfan feels the exact same way, so for us Trophies are much better. I would gladly replay all of my games were I to get trophies.. they are just that addicting.
