Dual DS Coming Soon To Two Touch-Screens Near You?

Spurs_Rule_And_Rock | August 27, 2008 | Rumor | DS
Several companies outside of Nintendo have been informed about a new Nintendo DS in the works. This DS isn't just an advance on the big seller DS Lite. The screens are bigger than both DS's and it has not just one touch screen, but two!
Not only will this make games harder, easier, or even the same but the main difference is it will make games longer. This might just mean that the price's of DS games might sky rocket.

The two touch screens mean two players can interact via the stylus with game play on both screens. Here's the kicker: Word has it that this announcement, if true, won't hit until early next year.

    If it had two touch screens then they'd have to make all new games for it, because the current games only use one touch screen.

    Why don't they focus on making an all new handheld instead of more versions of the DS.

      This is talking about an all new handheld. What would be the point of two touch screens if they didn't make games for the system ground up. This will be like the jump from Gameboy to Gameboy Color, or Color to Advance.

      I'm sure it will have other improvements as well such as better graphics, sound, and maybe internal memory to download old school GB games or something.

        Oh, I guess when I read it I assumed that it is just a new version of a DS, not an all new system.

    of course new games will have to be released because that's what Nintendo does, they take their handhelds and upgrade them, e.g.
    gameboy -> pocket, color.
    advance -> advance sp

    Hm. Well, this is the second thread/article posted about a new DS system being announced soon. If we get another article, I might consider believing it. And then call it completely unoriginal.

    O BOI NAO THARZ TWO TOUCH SCREEEENZ

    That would be quite awesome, in my opinion. The DS is great, what's not to like about an improvement on the DS?

    Well if i'm right. Each video game co. make a new system every five years. The DS came out in 2004. So ya it could happen

    They could make some interesting games with this. I own a DS and it's one of my favorite systems. I'm a bit exited.

    Wow, I got my DS lite. About a year ago. A hundred twenty bucks down. A year later rumors of a better, more expensive one? (gags).

    My response:

    When did the DS LITE come out? Thats a upgrade if you won't forget.

      Gameboy came out about four years before Gameboy Advance, which came out about four years before the Nintendo DS. I don't think the cycle cares about any "upgrades".

    I do not like this. I was just playing Animal Crossing, and I liked it.

    Sounds like more of a bid for money than anything. Having said this, if they'd bring out some decent games on it I'd probably consider buying one.

    I would prefer a whole new console though...
