Resident Evil 2 Remake Coming To Wii?

Could a remake of Resident Evil 2 be coming too Wii? That's what the latest Famitsu issue has apparently revealed.

The remake is said to feature additional story elements, new "swordsman" enemies, and a "Resident Evil 4 viewpoint" which suggests some parts of the game will have an over-the-shoulder camera angle.

Popular Japanese gaming bulletin board, 2ch, has posted information on what looks to be a brand new remake of fan favourite Resident Evil title, Biohazard 2.
For now, the posting lists the following features for the game, which will be released exclusively on Nintendo Wii. The details were alledgedly published in the latest Famitsu.

Full Remake akin to Biohazard on the Gamecube.
Some parts consist of Resident Evil 4 viewpoints
New knight like ("swordsman") creature shown
Additional story elements will be implemented

It is unknown yet whether or not this is 100% confirmed.

    I'd buy it. My PS one broke in half, literally, so I never got to finish the first disc.

    RE2 was my least favorite RE game, besides 4. If they could take the HUNK and Tofu missions, still have the seperate playthroughs, and still have Nightmare mode (which is a no since Nintendo loves casual too much), then I would like it. I'm not attached to RE2, so seeing have the RE4 treatment on it would be alright.

    RE4 style approach?

    no, do what they did with REmake, that looked truly amazing, even if the backgrounds were prerendered

    I was interested, till RE4 was mentioned (and "swordsman" enemies?)...now this remake can literally go to hell for all I care.

    I mean I probably would've given it a thought to BUY the Wii for a remake of my favorite RE, but I already got enough shooter games, so I guess I'll give that a skip.

    RE2 was the best, IMO, so a remake (an actual remake, not some shitty port like on the GC) I'm sure to buy. And with some elements from RE4, this should make for a rather interesting game.

    When I saw they word "Remake" I though it said "cake".

    Now I'm disappointed.

    RE1 & RE2 > RE4 & RE5

    If this is true, I'll definitely get it. RE2 is one of the best in the series, (ADA!) and I'd love to play it again.

    The Remake of this game would just sell it for me.

    And am i the only one who loves Pre-rendered backgrounds. For a console like the Wii, I think they can be fantastic!

    Nah if a REmake is in the works they'll go with actual 3D backgrounds this time around, but hey, the better looking the better period.

    Would be awesome. Now they need to bloody bring Wii versions of Zero and REmake out of Japan.
