Nintendo to Revive an Old Franchise for the Wii?

According to French newssite Gamekyo, Nintendo will be announcing a new Wii game for one of their old franchises at their upcoming Fall Press Conference that will be held later this week on October 2nd.

Various names have been thrown around, with most guessing that it will be Kid Icarus. Nintendo has no comment.

Nintendo seems to be hiding some more surprises for its upcoming Japanese press conference next Thursday. Everyone is talking about a new model of the Nintendo DS that includes a camera, but what you don't know is that Nintendo has a new game to show. We can announce today that Nintendo will reveal a new game for the Wii during this event which is actually an old franchise that everyone is waiting for. Nintendo press conference will be held in Japan on October 2nd.

    Kid Icarus would seem logical, especially given Pit's appearance in Brawl - they should get kids more involved with the golden age of retro gaming. (damn young whipper-snappers)

    It better be Kid Icarus! It so better be, fans (like me) that were disappointed the long rumored Gamecube version was cancelled would lose it if there is a Kid Icarus announcement... especially if it is the "mature" Kid Icarus fans have been asking for (like what was done with Zelda in Twilight Princess)

    Though, mature or "re-realized" or with the retro cherub look and feel, a next-gen Kid Icarus (if done right) could be awesome!

    You gotta hand it to Nintendo - they have to pay their R&D department pennies, and they still come up with "fresh" stuff.


    Honestly- how about a remake of Conker's Bad Fur Day for the Wii. I would enjoy that immensely.
