The worldwide demand for an Xbox 360 version (of MGS4) is quite high, and it is something we are currently looking in to.

If it did, it would be awesome because I really want to play it. But I would want everything on 2 discs, make sure there's enough room to play the whole game with out taken out anything. Or use one play disc and another to install like the last bit of levels or story (kinda what my Oblivion: Game of the Year edition did with the expansion pack)

2 discs even under heavy compression you would probably be lucky with 4 discs, 6 discs if it was uncompressed like on the Playstation 3 and i assume most Xbox 360ers what the same version the Playstation 3 gamers got and no a version with compressed graphics and lower quality sound etc..

I think it would be uncompressed about 4-5 discs.

I rather get up and change a disc then wait 10 minutes so the game could load each level.

Anyways, from what I'm reading elsewhere, they are talking about Metal Gear franchise expanding, not re-releasing MGS4 on the 360:

No uncompressed it would have to be 6 disks. It fills a 50GB Blu-ray disk. DVD9 only holds 8.5GB simple math would tell you that 5 disks isn't enough.

Despite claims made by Kojima made before the game came out (ie, the ones of him saying that the bluray disc wasn't big enough for the game, etc), in the end, the game is only 30.1GB

They would have to delete huge chunks from the plotline and also remove a few characters and vital pieces of equipment if it was to ever port, and if it did that then it would be awful to play.

If Metal Gear Online cropped up on the 360 that would be acceptable but still, MGS's spirit has always been bundled with SONY, so dont count on it, fanboys.

Hmm, I don't think he is scared, but give him props for his fanboy love.. (I am blinded by Fallout 3 and demand it is GOTY 2008)...

That said, if Konami looks at the numbers, they would see that MGS2 ported over to the Xbox generated abysmal sales (then again it is believed by many to be the worst of the series, i like it for what it is)

Granted the 360 audience is broader than the original Xbox BUT I don't think a Metal Gear game will do as well as it does on the Playstation, since as Pang pointed out, the spirit of metal gear has been with sony, and the loyal fanboys that boost sales went ahead and purchased a PS3 knowing a MG was on the way...

I wonder if, knowing the PS3 is already installed with the core audience, would it still generate historic MG sales # if on the 360...

Worth thinking about. Many gamers have multiple consoles, but by the responses, not everyone.

All of that sale crap is kind of BS.
You can pretty much tell that he could push around 12 mill copies if he ported it to 360.

The only ones who are really against this are fanboy's. But W/e it will most likely get shot down.

Actually they do have to remove alot of stuff, since in the game there's plenty of advertisements of Sony products like PSP, cell phones...etc the list goes on. So if this were to be ported, which by the looks of it and the facts(Koloth), its not going to, they'll have to change alot of the stuff.

He isn't scared cause time and time again this rumor has been squashed by the man himself who directed this game, Kojima(as well as Konami). It makes fanboys like you get their hopes up believing in old rumors that clearly can't die, just to give another game under the Xbox name. Sorry its not happening.

No, they don't have to be changed. Save for of course the fact that Microsoft probably wouldn't appreciate a 20 hour commercial for Sony and Mac products on their console. Not to mention the blu-ray joke would make absolutely no sense at all on the 360.

No, If the only way MGS was going to xbox was if they didn't have to change anything then MS would defo let it.

A few bits of advertisement here and there is a small price to pay for a huge deal.

They obviously wont like it, but its not %100 has to be changed.

Slumpy you have no idea what you're talking about. MS doesn't want to have a game that has advertisements using Sony controllers, Media discs, PSP, Cell phones and Music players within games. Think about it in a company stand point. They want games that only advertise MS equipment. Having games with Sony equipment will end up screwing MS and making more sales appear for Sony, which knowing MS doesn't need at this time. They're getting beaten every month this year in majority of the world from the PS3. From a business standpoint, if this were to be ported they need to get rid of the Sony ads, tweak them to have MS ads instead so advertise their products. Thats competition and how businesses work. There's no way going around it. But since this is false due to this PR guy lying, then there's no need for it.

Did you just read what I said?

First off, For them to even see the ads they will have to buy a Xbox and the game.

Then MS isn't even in the Cellphone, Media disk or hand-held markets.

Are you serriously thinking that someone is going to buy an xbox and MGS then take it back the next day to trade it all in for a PS3 because MGS told them too?

Please, Your the one who has no idea what your talking about.

Bull, he is a PR guy. His job by definition is to keep people interested in the company and asking questions. Clearly he took notice that the question keeps getting asked and decided to stir the pot some more. There is no more to this comment than that. It gets people like you and 360 fanboys excited because they think there is something more to it.

Also point of note I tell people I'm considering things all the time. Most of the time if it is something I don't want to do, it is a blow off response to get them to leave me alone for a while. If I want to do it the only reason I would say I'm comsidering it is because I have no idea how to do it yet.

In other words "we're considering it" means they have no plans to do it and aren't working on it right now.

I've never really understood PR guys up until now, because I obviously don't go to Game Conferences, and they're not very important people to begin with. So the above info is quite useful.
