It's possible that Tomb Raider: Underworld for the Nintendo Wii might have a "game stopping" glitch. It seems there is a lever missing, which in the other console versions is used to get to the next place, effectively leaving the Wii player stuck in the Coastal Thailand level.

(Video of where lever should be in source)

In the room after Lara rotates the glowing bridge there is an underwater door that needs to be opened by pulling a lever on the left wall of the room. It’s a simple puzzle with a big problem. In the Wii version of the game the lever is simply not there.

So can you actually not get pass that level? Is it just some versions or all of them? The source article isn't particularly clear on that (or maybe I just didn't read it right).

Basically in the other versions you need to use that lever to progress, as far as everyone's knowledge goes so far. So without that lever, unless a new alternate way is found people playing the Wii version won't be able to progress full stop. The other versions are fine so far, as the video demonstrates it is there in the Xbox 360 version which is what brought up the questioning when several Wii players voiced their online complaints to not being able to play their game any further.

Actually, the version in the video is not the 360 version but, in fact, the Wii version. The B button appears several times on screen, such as right before Lara swings across the gap.

Strange glitch, some people are getting it and others aren't. Eidos need to get better testers, but the least they can do is have a recall and replace the current copies out there.

whoever tested these games needs to be fired.

I can see why Eidos was censoring reviews.

Tip, Eidos: if you would bother making a half-decent game, you wouldn't have to censor reviews!

Oh right cause devs all the time, even testers get every glitch fixed before launch?

Stop being a fool, if this was the case then all games wouldn't need patches to fix. And lets be real here, it seems the glitch is rare and not constant like Silver and Gogetenks stated.

This glitch renders the game UNPLAYABLE AS YOU CANNOT PASS THE LEVEL.

        So what the tester goes

"Oh yeah, THE LEVER WHICH YOU NEED TO GET TO THE NEXT LEVEL ISNT THERE! OH WELL LOL"

Do you really think the tester would miss something THAT MAKES GETTING ONTO THE NEXT LEVEL IMPOSSIBLE.

I never said the Glitch was good, i've encountered many bad ones, but you think devs can find every glitch ever made before the release then you're obvious dreaming.

The glitch isn't widespread, its rare so while it is a bad glitch it isn't as big as some of you are making it out to be. Silver and Gogetenks stated this already, and I've read about this before.

Developers don't catch all the glitches, but they go through the game to make sure it's playable at least....

The fact is no game prior to the PS3 & XBOX360 required patches. PS2 and all its generation and previous consoles had games that were COMPLETE and needed no patches to fix, since there'd be no bugs. Now game companies think "Lets get the game out, and we'll patch any problems later".

Lmao, That's some piss poor quality on edios part.

Plus I don't think you can update games via patches on the wii can you?

Looks like the only option is a recall.

That's pretty annoying, but it seems to be pretty rare. Perhaps only one in every couple of hundred cases, so the testers can't really be blamed for not finding it.

Who the hell buys games like Tomb Raider on the Wii anyway?

    Just go buy it on the 360 or the PS3 ; ;

I know quite a few people that have a Wii as their primary gaming console (e.g. werent hard core gamers and picked one up because it is fun) just an FYI that not everyone has multiple consoles and there is a community of dedicated wii owners - which (if I may add) is why if this glitch is legit - that is unacceptable... not a good look for Eidos.

    >.> this just proves that humans will soon be replaced with robots. Robots with plenty of levers.

No because the humans who build them will forget to attach said levers.
