Has the new teaser site for BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams given away its setting? Some people seem to think so, and they think that the sequel just might be set in the lost city of Atlantis. If so, we might see another underwater setting similar to that of the original game's Rapture.

After decompiling the Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams website, we found a couple of hidden files including a load of dates scattered about seemingly at random. However, after more searching through the files we found those same dates overlayed on the world map on the teaser site.

I still think we will be in Rapture again. It was never really disclosed how big Rapture was, if anything to give the Atlantis part some credibility Atlantis could be part of Rapture. I mean i am sure the creator of Rapture needed somewhere for the workers to live when Rapture was being made, no matter where it is set these viral sites are already showing the games story will be just as indepth as the original.

Unless they develop a breathing underwater tonic or something, then I don't see how it will work since Atlantis wouldn't have the same Rapture-esque way of being able to house Human life.

Either Rapture moved, the Daddies just saw the remains of a city and made it their home or 2K are going to seriously bomb with this game's storyline XD

Who's to say that they aren't going to simply treat Atlantis as a rapture-like city? Supposedly, Atlantians were an advanced society, so the idea of them having a rapture-ish city under the water isn't much less unlikely than a 1960's (or whatever) era Rapture, what with it's gene splicing cocktails and such >_>

Still, it is probably more likely that whoever is rebuilding rapture just decided to build it around where the mythical Atlantis was rumored to be.

A balance between the two, could possibly be them building a different rapture on the site of Atlantis for a good reason (either they found something advanced there, or something).

Them having Atlantis like that would completely suck for a Bioshock story. It would be like having Transformers in Metal Gear Solid; there are things like it there already, yes, but to actually have them in there like that would blow.

Not necessarily. I think that, if used correctly, this could add an interesting twist to BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams' story.

When has anything like that ever been used correctly? One of the points of Rapture was its unique-ness that the player was meant to marvel at as he/she went through the game, being in the gardens of Arcadia for one minute and then going through a tube to another section just to be reminded that it is a majestic underwater city. To say 'Ohlol, Atlantis did it first, *bleep* you Ryan!' would destroy a lot of the feeling and atmosphere they created in the original.

Yes, this is pretty much what I'm thinking. It would be cool if implemented correctly.

I'm seriously going to have to find out the story behind Bioshock. I'm not into that type of game and gameplay, but the plot behind it . . . I have to know.

No one knows were it is. There are loads of locations it "Supposedly is".

And why would it be in the Caribbean? It was a Greek city.

How is it a Greek city? It was a huge continent and it fought against Athens

Because according to accounts back then it had various Greek features and shared Greek cultures. Back then Greek city's always fought each other.

Ive done a couple of reports on Atlantis for school and Ive never came across any source that had any info on Atlantis and Greece sharing any features or cultures. The only thing that I have came across in Timaeus and Critias is that Atlantis and Athens are polar opposites society wise and the only features that I have ever read on Atlantis is just what the continent itself looked like. If you have any info on Atlantis' features or cultures I would love read them cause Ive been interested in it for some time.

Aw come on, it's a FLOATING city How's about that one. And it floated to the Caribbean! Their pumps just stopped working, that's why it flooded.

The water currents still drag it to different places throughout the globe, and it currently is in the Caribbean!

Just a joke guys. Just a joke.

I'm skeptical about Atlantis being involved in Bioshock at all, but if they make it work, I guess I'm fine with it.

Seems like the most likely explanation atm.
