If you have been to the viral site for BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams, you may remember having seen numerous mentionings of tall, skinny people kidnapping little girls. We would expect big daddies to kidnap little girls, yes, but they obviously aren't skinny. Kotaku seems to offer an answer to this puzzler:

A sleek, female version of the lumbering Big Daddy that menaced players in the original BioShock will be featured in the sequel to the well-received shooter, sources tell Kotaku.

That doesn't sound nearly as cool as "Big Daddy."

Personally, I don't think that this has anything to do with female big daddies, but, hey, anything's possible...

Well of course the Big Daddy doll looks different to the real thing. For one it just looks like a regualr ragdoll with thumbtacks, a corkscrew and some thin wire attached to it.

No, there were numerous mentionings of the kidnappers being skinny on the many articles on the site.

I wasn't even talking about that.. I was talking about how they think the shape of the doll indicates a new type of big daddy

Well, yes, but they're saying that it along with the articles suggest a new type of big daddy, not it alone.

I think I understand what you're saying, though.

Female Big Daddies... That's just weird

Not really, it's just the Little Sisters grown up in a direct vision of those they idolised.

Impossible. The reason they idolised them was because they were mind-*bleep*ed, but now that the mind-*bleep* isn't there (the trauma remains of course, but the majority of it would be gone) they don't, so they wouldn't become fanatic copycats.

I wonder if they'll just look like thin, less mechanical versions of big daddies, or more like mechanically modified women?

Well I'm sure if there are female versions and they are skinnier it will give them much more agility over the big daddies. They may not be as "tough" as the big daddies but just as deadly.

    Wait . . . Skinny = female? Hmm . . .

Ah well. Never played the first bioshock though I'm very interested in the story behind the game, and likewise for the second one.

Maybe instead of a giant Drill they have a Embedded megaphone and Nag you to death from long range?
