GDC Rumors - Jak 4/Daxter 2 in the works, Insomniac moving away from R&C/Resistance?

According to these rumors there is a ton of things that *may* be happening at GDC. The 40GB PS3 is getting it's price cut down to $299 where as the 80GB is retaining it's $399 price with the inclusion of two games and the PSP is also getting one - it's going to sell for $120, a new Siphon Filter game is supposedly underway and using the Killzone 2 engine (OMG HAX), Shadow of the Colossus Online will be announced, and Insomniac Games may be moving AWAY from R&C as well as Resistance to create a new IP that is similar to Zelda.

Some of those things are awesome and some I can for see people complaining about if they do truly happen.

      Sotc? Online? Yeh right...I think it was just translated wrong. Most likely "SotC sequel" or something. But hey, if they do something else with SotC, I hope they add in the deleted colossi.

    As long as they don't leave the next R&C game on a cliffhanger they can do whatever they want. Just finish the story first.

    They'll finish up Ratchet & Clank first, the next game is promised for this year, and Insomniac always stick to their dates.

    Lots of killer rumors there, would be nice if a couple were true.

      I know. I just don't want them to pull the same thing they did with ToD and end it on a cliff hanger and then move on to another project for 3 years. God of War was bad enough. I don't wnat it to be come a recuring theme in the gaming industry to end games on cliff hangers and then leave the audience hanging for half a decade.

        Yeah I can understand that. It really is a poor attempt by developers to get their fans to come back for the sequels. I really didn't like it in ToD, no closure at all. At least Resistance had a little closure, though Insomniac aren't exactly guilt free there either.

          I didn't like R&C when I was playing Jak all the time, now its kinda the other way around now.

          Though I still have a soft spot for the first J&D. Best platforming game on the PS2.

    I would assume so, as the prices we're in dollars. But I double checked just for you and they are in both the untranslated page and translated page. And besides, the prices sound pretty accurate if they we're going to get a price cut.

    I would also add that I've been telling people for a couple of months now that Sony is developing Cross Game Chat, and other similar features for at least a few months now. No one believed me... well, I guess they should now

      No, don't count on it.

      I didn't know they were still selling 40 GB PS3s, 80GB and 160GB is all you can get in the US, neither are backwards compatible.
