So the rumor is stronger than ever now, with Screw Attack claiming to know that Multiplayer WILL be added to Uncharted 2: Among Theives.

But does this mean a good thing? Or would the addition of a multiplayer subtract from the single player campaign? Read and find out. Link to the source of the rumor is added, just to kill two birds with one stone...or whatever that saying is.

Yet to be officially confirmed, as in someone from SONY or Naughty Dog hasn’t actually bothered to get off their corporate ass and tell us themselves, but strong rumors have started flying around the web that the highly anticipated sequel to the PS3’s major early hit, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, WILL include ‘Standard Multiplayer’ & ‘Co-operative Play’.

Now if Screw Attack have indeed got evidence of this, what does this mean for the game? Will SONY ruin the amazing single player campaign that made the first game such a huge hit? Will there be some sort of online ranking system, including Team Deathmatch games & etc? Will their be editable or even created characters available?

Didn't Naughty Dog officially announce during GDC that there would be no multiplayer in Uncharted 2?

Apparently not officially enough. Still loads of rumors flying around and seeing as we don't even have an actual set release date there are still probably things we've not seen. I dunno what Multiplayer would bring, I'd prefer a co-op story mode and a longer campaign.

They said there would be no story compaign co-op for sure, but I would love to see a competitive online, as it would actually work methinks.

    I've mixed thoughts. I'd prefer a spin-off campaign designed for Co-Op.

The story will not suffer, ND has made that blatantly clear. I'm confidant that everything will get the proper attention.

The developer can promise what they want but the only person who will be actually able to decide if the multiplayer ruins the game or not will be the person with the Sixaxis/Dualshock 3 controller in their hands.

I remember Free Radical hailing Haze as a revolutionary FPS that would define the PS3. They're now bankrupt.

Except that Uncharted is an already-established franchise. With Haze, it was all up in the air.

Everything is up in the air untill it arrives Red XD

I've seen amazing games come out, then have DREADFUL sequels that nearly ruin the franchise. (Devil May Cry 2 is my most likely example as Dante was NOWHERE near badass enough & it didn't give me anything I didnt get in the first one and when 3 came out I had to wait half a year before I was sure to buy it because I was worried it's be a repeat of the second. Maybe that wasn't the case for all, but it was for me)
