The Witcher was a very popular game on the PC that was praised by many critics. So the dev's then decided to bring it to the consoles. Well rumors are spreading that the polish developer have cancelled the console version. They currently haven't responded.

According to a translation on IncGamers, rumours regarding the game’s possible cancellation originate from Polish site Polygamia, which claims to have been informed by sources that the title won’t see the light of day.

Edge approached CD Projekt Red’s public relations and marketing VP for North America and the UK, who told us that he was unable to “comment on rumours,” adding that “any future plans for the project will be announced via official channels.”

The Witcher franchise, based on the literary works of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, debuted on PC in 2007, and hit the one million worldwide sales mark in October 2008. Later that year CD Projekt Red said the series would make its console debut in autumn 2009.

I'm actually happy about this. I own the Enhanced Edition on the computer and with it being as complex as it is with all the menu's and everything, it leads me to believe it wouldn't work on consoles that well.

My cousin will be devastated at this, he worships the games and was really looking forward to owning it on 360.

I dont think them refusing to talk about rumors necessarily means that they're not making it. They said if it were happening, they'd say it themselves.
