Let's hop on the PSP2 rumor train again, with another hitting the 1up offices this time around, with news of a possible PSP Go! looking to be announced about E3. According to 1up, this new redesign will hit Japan in September and North America in October or November.
The supposed system will feature a sliding screen, that will come in two SKUs, one with 8GB and one with 16GB of internal memory. With that, UMD will be removed, with what is purported to be 100 PSP titles available for download, headlined by a possible Gran Turismo Mobile. Only one analog nub is supposed to adorn this rumored system.
As a reminder, this is only a rumor, and Sony's only comments towards this are the standard "We do not comment on rumors or speculation" response.

Besides i don't see why we can't have the extra nub and the people who have an older PSP not just play with old settings like they usually would, while people with this have the better method
PLUS don't you think the 'no UMD' thing is abit more of a combatibility issue then an right nub?

Another source for this disappointing story, it now looks like the real PSP successor is a long time away.
But on the bright side, the hardware and graphics are just going to get better as we wait, and are going to be pretty awesome by the time the PSP2 gets released.
Yeah that's my hope too, that the hardware and graphics for the real PSP2 is getting better as we wait, and technology gets more fine tuned, for when they finally do come up with it!
